Best Practices Team, LLC – Annandale, VA – was established in November of 2013 with the purpose of providing best-in-class PMP Prep training, and other project management training and consulting. Mark Tolbert, PMP is the founder and CEO of the company, and has partnered with Stefan Maier, PMP, COO of the company; Gordon Young, PMP; Ken Yung PMP; and Mark McGreevy, PMP. Collectively, this represents well over seventy years of project and program management experience, and over twenty years of PM training and education experience.
We are passionate about project management, passionate about delivering quality and meeting customer satisfaction goals, and passionate about the importance of project management for businesses today. Our mission is to provide the highest quality training services to our customers; and to adapt, learn and grow with the ever changing demands and requirements needed for providing project management training today.
We have taught PMP Prep classes for a number of excellent PMP Prep providers such as Edwel Programs, the Washington, DC PMI Chapter – (PMIWDC), the Baltimore PMI Chapter, Velociteach, PM Academy, and Global Knowledge. We have learned a great deal from teaching in these programs, and we have incorporated some the best ideas and principles learned in these programs into our program. However, we have developed a unique “blended training” approach for offering PMP Prep classes, combining classroom training with virtual training that can provide a unique creative approach, and reduce the oftentimes arduous nature of a PMP Prep boot camp.
We believe our virtual training modules are unlike any other virtual PMP training services available today. They are not just an overview of the knowledge areas and sections needed for the exam; they are very in-depth, and the complete four-day class has been converted into a virtual classroom. We have followed a “Khan-Academy” type approach. The videos have been modularized and segmented to 12-15 minute segments, and quizzes and exercises have been included with each video to test the student’s understanding of the materials.
